The webmaster of that url is elf@pclink.com.

Some of the pages linked off of that url, however, are
the property of various authors, and you will need to
get the permission of each individual author to use them.
I cannot grant those permissions myself.

Dear Sir/Madam,

Let me first introduce myself. I did Ph.D. in
Statistics a long ago. I am Professor at University of
Windsor, Ontario, Canada. I am writing a book. In my
book, I like to use a print of USA map made in your
web site.

http://www.pclink.com/elf/letbox.htm

I like to make exercise, so that people can learn
more about USA as well as about your LETBOX.

Could you please let me know the way of getting
permission of it? If you have the right to do
that, could you please give me such a permission?

I acknowlege that I will never use it for personal
profit or private business. I will use it to teach
students in Canada, USA and other countries where I
will visit in future.

I will really appreciate your kind co-opeation in
this matter.

Kindly acknowledge the receipt of the same and
oblige.

with kind regards and thanks,

Yours Sincerely,

Sarjinder

Dear Mr. Sarjinder,

As one of the contributors of the letterboxing map of the United
States, respectfully, I would like to decline your request to reprint
the map appearing on the letterboxing web site. By granting you
permission without a lot more detail as to its intended use, I'm afraid
in all good concience the idea does not interest me.

There is a proliferation of clip art and stock photography available,
and I believe a map of the United States would be fairly easy to come
by. I would strongly recommend that you pursue that direction in your
search for graphics. The map as viewed on your computer screen has a
resolution of approximately 72 dots per inch. Standard printing methods
prefer a dot pitch of 600-900 dots per inch.

Good luck in the completion of your project.

Sincerely,

here is his polite response:

Dear Mr. Cheney,

Thank you very much for your kind e-mail. I will check
with "proliferation of clip art and stock" peoples if
I need it. As you said, I saw its print is not good
engough. Thank you very much for teaching me too.

with kind regards,

Yours sincerely,
Sarjinder
